A bed costs $750 a month. Most people in recovery can cover $500 of it.
The gap is the difference between a person who gets housing and one who doesn't. Tennessee Recovery Reserve measures that gap county by county, and lets a congregation close it for one specific bed, in one specific place, for as long as it's needed.
Money is one way to help. Rides, meals, a Tuesday-night meeting room, and a job are the others. Tell us what you can do and we'll tell you where it's needed.
How a sponsored bed works
1. We find the person and the gap
A referral comes in from a treatment center or drug court, already screened. We verify what they can pay and what a certified bed in their county costs. The difference is the gap, to the dollar.
2. You cover the gap, we place the person
Your gift goes to the operator, earmarked to that bed, month by month, for as long as the person is there. Not to us. Not to a general fund.
3. You hear what happened
You'll know when they move in, and you'll know when they leave and why. Sponsorship ends when the stay does.
